Frosted Vs. Clear Crystal Bowls

Crystal bowls come in two types:

Frosted Bowls are made using the quartz fusion method and have a greater amount of quartz crystal than clear bowls, and have thicker walls. They emit a powerful resonance and are much more reverberant. The tone lingers longer because of the size and the amount of crystal contained in these bowls. Frosted bowls are sturdier and are less prone to shatter. The larger the bowl, the deeper the tone. Each bowl, regardless of size, can be tuned to a specific tone to affect a specific chakra.

Clear Bowls are made from cut sections of large diameter quartz tubing that is melted and fused together at one end. They are lighter, more expensive and play best when held in the hand. The sound from the clear bowls is often interpreted as more intense and pure, and is preferred by some.

Both the Frosted and Clear bowls can be created to play at certain frequencies to affect a specific chakra of the body.
